i like the speedpainting style. it has such a nice oily flair.
but the shadowy, rigt part of the picture could be moe elaborated... more shadows, depth .. it's a bit unadventurous

^ agreee! I like the loose style of this one. It mimics oils wonderfully and reminds me of some of the jazz impressionist artwork from around the 1920 period. This also has a strong atmosphere

This remind's me of a paranormal photo almost. The strong sense of smudged strokes give's it a slightly distorted look too it. I would work more on creating a sense of perspective... because new York is a very sky friendly city and the pespective should not only go toward's you it should go up too. a Strong center of intrest help's too.

love the colors, the style, the atmosphere, all match with the timeframe you were going for, and overall it's a very nice piece indeed.

I didn't believe the new york locale though...simply because in areas were there are high buildings (manhattan) there are zero low buildings, with the exception of churches. That comment is not meant as a reflection of your piece, I think it's excellent, just being in NYC at the moment, I had to get that out.

Great way of using brush strokes and great composition wich causes the impression that people is moving. I am not so fond of the horizontal brush strokes of the bar

from a technical viewpoint, I think the buildings on the left side could use some detail.. I think its a bit too easy to make them blurred streaks but thats my own personal taste.. its fine the way it is..

as for style and atmosphere: its perfect.. don't touch it

Its nice to see something like this in the top ten! very very nice. Great brush strokes nice composition. I enjoy that you get the feeling of buildings and tall structures without actually having to see them.
